Mass is always\n user-supplied, since population and output are time-varying and the\n reference year is the analyst's to document; the package ships only the\n geometry, which keeps `islands` a stable reference list rather than a panel\n that silently ages. Separate origins and destinations via `to`, explicit\n own-mass term via `self`, decay elasticity as a parameter rather than a\n default. Base R, no new dependencies. 22 new tests.\n\n2. The SIDS-profiling vignette gains a market-access section and an explicit\n statement of what the great-circle distances do and do not represent:\n centroids that can sit in open water, no sea or air route structure, no\n travel time, no internal geography. Every claim in the new prose is checked\n against the executed output (Spearman -0.95 against nearest-neighbour, rank\n stability above 0.97 across theta, Guam and the Northern Marianas the only\n large movers).\n\n3. paper.md replaces the unquantified \"general-purpose tools handle these\n inconsistently\" claim with measured numbers: countrycode resolves 248 of\n 251 labels identically, the three exceptions are the BES islands, and none\n of its 627 codelist columns carries SIDS or SNIJ status, which leaves all\n 85 classified territories unserved.
